Cian Lowney - Specialist Orthodontist

Cian completed his undergraduate dental training in University College Cork in 2011. Following this, he completed vocational training and senior house officer posts in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Paediatric Dentistry, Oral Surgery and Restorative Dentistry in Manchester and Edinburgh.

Cian completed his specialty orthodontic training in Leeds Dental Institute and Seacroft Hospital from 2015-2018. During this time, he completed a Master of Science (MSc) by Research, with distinction. He was awarded the William Houston Gold medal for achieving the highest results in the Membership in Orthodontics (M. Orth) examinations through the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and was registered on the Orthodontic Specialist list with the General Dental Council in 2018.

After completing his specialty training, Cian worked in specialist orthodontic practice before completing consultant training in Leeds Dental Institute and York General Hospital from 2019-2021, completing the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examinations. He was appointed as a Consultant Orthodontist in Leeds Dental Institute in October 2021.

Outside of dentistry, Cian is a keen triathlete and particularly enjoys cycling and running.
